Abramson’s and Antonelli’s collaboration in Unraveling covers over ten years of observations in and around the natural world. Keeping beauty and wonder as a grounding element in their work, both artists explore memory, place and loss. Antonelli delves deeper into the displacement of wilderness and our constructed environment, identifying uneasy interactions with what we call Nature. In recent work, Abramson incorporates whimsy as one way to balance the inevitable feelings of environmental grief.
