Assistant Director

This position requires the ability to communicate well with staff, parents, and children. This includes: greeting families and campers upon arrival and orientate them to camps, managing parent expectations by knowing your campers and conversing with parents at pick-up and drop-off times; managing any issues that may arise including, but not limited to, camper behavior issues, parent complaints, teacher concerns, supervising and engaging with students.

Arrival time 8:30 am  Monday through Friday. Camps run July 6 through August 7, 2026. with a break July 13- 17. You are expected to work from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm unless otherwise agreed upon (ie. in case you are teaching a camp. In which case you will be expected to sign out by 12:30 pm and to get ready for my camp, which is not included in this contract. or if you are teaching a morning camp, you may be asked to sign into the afternoon such as 12:30 - 4:30 pm.) Regular weeks will be 35 hours for four weeks of camp. There is an opportunity to have additional hours. You are responsible for keeping track of my own hours. The rate is $20/hour. Duties would include a range of responsibilities: 

  • Prepare camp at the beginning of the day 

  • Keep track of registration, update as needed

  • Check kids in and out of camp, update attendance forms daily

  • Oversee staff, interns and counselors

  • Assign Counselors to specific tasks 

  • Assist the director, teachers and kids as needed. 

  • Monitor lunch and break activities

  • Review emergency rules and safety procedures with campers and staff 

  • Review classroom management plan with campers and staff

  • Help shop for camp supplies, staying within supply budget provided 

  • Help organize and maintain studio and galleries

  • Check in with Director with update on any issues you may be encountering 

  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director 

  • Attend all required staff trainings and meetings 

  • Help keep floors clean especially in front room and help sanitize work areas/tables regularly

Required clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.

CPR/First Aid Certified preferred.

Counselors

2 years experience working with children ages 6 - 13 required. Camp counselors have a wide range of responsibilities, and some roles require specialist expertise. Duties of a Camp Counselor might include:

  • Greeting families and campers and signing them in and out of camp.

  • Organizing team games during interims of camps and other camp breaks.  

  • Leading activities such as crafts and art, demonstrating various techniques and encouraging children to come up with ideas, when assigned by teacher or supervisor.

  • Communicating with parents, providing updates where required and answering questions about the camp.

  • Checking on children with medical needs to ensure they have taken any required medication.

  • Providing guidance, motivation and support to all camp visitors.

  • Respond to minor injuries or illnesses.

  • Health and safety knowledge to help keep all campers safe.

  • Excellent communication skills to convey camp procedures to all visitors.

  • Leadership skills to guide and motivate campers throughout their day.

  • Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with campers under their care.

This job is a full-time position during our camps July 6 - August 7 (with one week off July 13 - 17). Other duties include following the teachers lead, anticipating needs and being proactive, and assisting the teacher as needed. Additional tasks may include organizing camp supplies, cleaning up, and supervising children to clean. Be a part of our creative team!

This is a full-time position during 4 camp weeks:

The pay for this position is $15 per hour. 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. You are required to have lunch with the campers. You are given two 15 minute breaks. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. No smoking or vaping allowed during camp hours. Need to keep personal cell phone use to a minimum.

Teaching Artist

Teaching Artist needed to teach Assemblage & Found Object Sculpture. If you have other talents that you think would make a great camp, drop us a line! The pay is $$25/hour/$375 for 15 hour camp. 3 hours a day.
